You snooze, you lose

Uncategorized Aug 30, 2024

Don't you wish someone would force you into bed like we forced our kids when they were toddlers?

When you prioritize your shut-eye, you're not just recharging your batteries; you're also giving your body the chance to recalibrate its hormonal balance.

Adequate sleep helps regulate ghrelin and leptin, the hunger hormones, ensuring you wake up feeling satisfied and less prone to reaching for those extra treats and snacks.

Beyond hormone regulation, sufficient sleep also aids in managing stress levels. We all know stress can lead to emotional eating and cravings for unhealthy comfort foods. By embracing a restful night's sleep, you're equipping yourself with a powerful tool to conquer stress, paving the way for mindful eating choices. So, let's turn off those screens, darken the room, and treat your body with sleep.

What I'm Loving

This is an oldie but a goodie. My Breville frother was a game changer and I didn't buy it for years because I was so against another kitchen appliance. But, this baby gets used every day, if not twice a day. Yes, it froths my Malk for my morning matcha, but it also creates a quick, warm, sugar less, hot chocolate.  Great for a night cap if you're needing one to wind down. Try Four Stigmatic reishi hot cocao or LMNT  or I use Further Foods chocolate collagen. All sweetened with stevia and light and satisfying chocolate treat.

 What to Lean Into:

Walking makes you sleep better. What?! I know. It's true that the more you walk, the better you sleep. So set a step goal for yourself, up your step count by 1000-2000 per day (if you're using your iphone, it's not accurate). I loved my Oura ring so much (I can't find it ;) and highly recommend it for counting steps AND checking in on your quality of sleep. It has a great sleep insight. (not an affiliate link)
